After spending a long time in the service industry, standing for extended periods or taking 10,000 steps a day when going out for leisure activities has become a regular occurrence.
But a year ago, I began to hear a crackling sound from my knees when walking or climbing stairs, and I began to experience knee weakness after prolonged standing. I thought it was just a sign of aging. There were times when it was frustrating for me to experience difficulty getting back on my feet. I searched for information about calcium and glucosamine supplements and even asked friends about their experiences flying to Japan for hyaluronic acid injections.
Supplementing nutrients is important, but flying to Japan for hyaluronic acid injections is unrealistic, as it costs hundreds of thousands of dollars, which I can't afford. Recently, I heard that there are clinics in Taiwan offering #PRP treatment injections for knee problems, which don't require surgery.
However, some of my friends advised against it, saying, "You're still young, don't do it. You'll get used to it." But the truth is, knees, like skin, require early care. It becomes much more challenging to maintain them once they have aged.
I made an appointment to undergo the treatment on my birthday, considering it a gift to myself as a middle-aged woman. My condition, according to the doctor, is between the first and second stages of degeneration and is relatively mild. I thought it was fortunate that I sought treatment early to repair and preserve my knee joints and maintain knee health !
After the examination, the nurse assisted with blood extraction. After waiting for over half an hour, the extraction was completed, and the injection could begin. During the injection, there was a slight sore and swollen sensation initially, but I didn't feel anything after the second injection. The swelling sensation quickly subsided after the injection, and within a week, I experienced some soreness, but I applied ice packs diligently. After seven days, the soreness gradually diminished!
In these past few weeks, I feel like my knees have become stronger, and I no longer experience the cracking sound when walking or going up and down stairs. I believe it's the effect of PRP in my knees, along with hot compresses and collagen supplementation. Not only have my knees improved, but my skin has also shown improvement.
